Terms of service

The service

CyCite is a research desk for advocates practising in Cyprus. From a question in Greek or English it finds Cyprus judgments and statutes, English case law, European Union and European Court of Human Rights material, and answers with the authorities in the order a Cyprus court expects them cited. Each authority opens at the passage relied on, with its source named. The desk is a research aid: not a lawyer, not a substitute for professional judgement, and not legal advice.

Verify before you cite

You must verify every citation and passage against an alternative source (CyLaw, Find Case Law, legislation.gov.uk, EUR-Lex, HUDOC, or the source named beneath the passage) before you rely on it in court, in an opinion or in advice. Answers are drafted by an AI model from retrieved material and can be incomplete or wrong. Verifying before you cite is a term of use, not a suggestion.

Acceptable use

• Use the desk for your own legal practice, study or research.
• Do not extract the shelf in bulk, automate requests, or resell or redistribute text served on the desk; a seat lets you read and cite, not copy the collection.
• Do not circumvent the free-question limit, the allowances, the daily ceiling or the one-session rule.
• Do not enter text you are not entitled to disclose; questions are processed by an AI model provider, as the privacy page explains.
• Do not use the service for anything unlawful or to harm a third party.

Accounts and sessions

Sign-up is by email and a password of at least 12 characters, and the email must be verified before the desk or a trial is available; the library can be browsed without an account. Keep your credentials to yourself: what is done under your account is your responsibility. Each account holds at most one live session, so a new sign-in signs out every other device. Seats on an Encelyte Bar plan belong to the chambers that pays for them and may be reassigned by it.

Billing

CyCite Starter is €24.99 and CyCite Pro €39.99 per user per month excluding VAT, billed monthly after a 14-day card-upfront trial. Encelyte Bar is €199 per month for five seats plus €39 per additional seat, invoiced. Each plan carries a monthly allowance of answers and memoranda stated on the pricing page, and every account has a daily ceiling of 100 answers and 25 memoranda; unused allowance does not carry over. Cancel any time in the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. VAT is collected by Stripe Tax; EU firms with a VAT ID are reverse-charged. Prices may change with 30 days' notice by email; a change never applies to a period already paid.

Availability and coverage

There is no service-level agreement at launch. We aim for continuity but do not warrant uninterrupted access. The shelf is assembled from published law and case reports and grows continuously; at any moment it may lack a judgment, an amendment or a translation, and we do not warrant that it is complete or current. Where a source is shown as an extract or by reference only, the full text is available at the source named beneath it.

Liability

Encelyte Ltd's aggregate liability arising from the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for a missed or misread authority, an adverse outcome in court, loss of profit or indirect loss, nor for reliance on an answer that was not verified against an alternative source. Nothing here limits liability that the law of Cyprus does not allow to be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and continued use after that date is acceptance. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Limassol have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rules.
